Ok, since this forum is about 'other' baseball news, tell us all what baseball related stuff you got for Christmas, or for whatever holiday you celebrate, or just got anyway, recently.

I got a copy of Leavy's Koufax book, which I already had a copy of, so that's not a big help. Nothing else baseball-wise ... I think everyone I know has, for the most part, decided to let me satisfy my baseball cravings myself.

(I did get several CDs though).

I didn't get anything baseball related. I did, however, recently purchase the newest SBE.

Same here. I bought the new SBE, along with a couple of older Sporting News baseball annuals (I'm trying to put together a collection).

Four baseball books, two baseball DVDs, and something to hang on the wall. Also, a Ted Williams hallmark ornament for the tree.

I got Larry Dierker's "This Ain't Brain Surgery" memoir, which I had mentioned elsewhere earlier. I had forgotten the tie-in with his own brain surgery. I also got this year's Hallmark baseball ornament, which was a Jason Giambi figurine.

Funny, the Reds fan got Giambi, and the Yankees fan (me) got Ted Williams. My wife said she just couldn't go for Giambi, for some reason.

I got an Almanac that has baseball stuff in it...and I got NASCAR Thunder 2004 for X-Box which has a couple of the All-Star Game paint schemes in it too. ;)

I really didn't ask for anything baseball this year...my dad got the SBE out of the way in November, and I wasn't interested in anything Christmasy until I suddenly got the yen for an X-Box, and then focused on getting football, hockey, and racing games for it. I actually didn't get the football game, I got a 3D Platformer instead, but I'll get it soon enough. I'll get a baseball game in April when they make MLB Slugfest Pro (or 20-04).

Speaking of the SBE...has Lee updated it some? I have a version which has 2003 World Series stuff in it, and I'm not certain if he's done any fixes to it since.

No baseball-related chanukah gifts for me this year.

I have a summer birthday so I usually get my baseball stuff then but I did get a bag to store my softball equipment.

Giambi was the new one. My wife has been getting me the new Hallmark ornament from the series each year, so I have a set of several.

Do you mind sharing what the two DVD's are?

I've got a good collection of DVD's, but always want more, more and even more. So, I'm hoping you got something I don't already have, so I can find out about and go get it.

I just checked the database and your order was placed right around the time that maybe yours would have the 2003 awards added, maybe it was sent out a few days earlier.

If they aren't in there, let me know and I'll send you a patch file that will update it.

Shawn - I have a bunch already too - Mantle, Jeter, Ripken, Brett, McGwire. They're cool.

Lee - sorry - you have them. I got the WS 100 DVD and the Yankee Century (is that what it's called?) DVD - - the latter was supposed to be a BD gift which got moved to X-mas.

Let me guess, the one from Chuck Knobluach that bounced off of Olbermann's mother's head?

That's what I thought, since you already mentioned the WS 100 DVD here and we had previously discussed the 100 Years of the Yankees DVD. But, I just thought I'd give it a shot.

I got a DVD of highlights from the 1943, 1944, and 1946 World Series. I'm pretty sure the contents are old newsreels.

Those were among the first of the annual World Series videos. They started making them around 1943. So, it wasn't something that was made more recently by people going through archives.

Lee, I don't have awards in mine.

So yeah, you can e-mail me a patch. If you read this immediately after I posted, wait a few minutes...I need to adjust my e-mail address. I go through Comcast these days, and the period where using my old attbi account will work with it is just about over.
Oh, and don't alter the patch for me this year, I installed SBE 4 into the default directory this time.

I got The Teammates, and a Pedro Martinez shirt.

I also used some of my christmas money to pick up some baseball caps, shirts, mugs and bobbleheads at the local Fanshop's going out of buisness sale(80% off :) ). I have a baseball book wishlist at amazon.com that I'm going to spend the rest on.
