he had an incredible rookie season, but no one took much notice, even after his WS performance in 2002. he should've gotten some votes for RoY

FRod had a very nice rookie campaign in 2003 (86 innings, 3.03 era, 1.01 WHIP, and 11 RSAA). I am sure the fact he was a set-up man kept him under the RoY radar screen.
Maybe I am mistaken but it seems like there is very little correlation between Winter League ball and MLB performance.

Rodriguez looks extremely superior in this winter baseball. Yesterday he got his eight save, with three SO and one walk with a total of 17 pitches.

He was had so much attention placed on him because of the World Series that now he is underrated. No one could have lived up to that performance and after a slow start I think a lot of people forgot about him.

He'll get more notice next year, if the rumors that the Angels will trade Percival are true. Then K-Rod will be the closer and get the glory.
