For whatever reason the Giants signed J.T. Snow to a one year $1.75M deal and sign Michael Tucker to a 2 year $3.5M. Tucker's biggest asset beside making outs is his ability to play all three outfield positions.

Even as bad as Snow is, as a hitter, given his service time, man, that's a low salary.

After reading some of the rumors of the players that the Giants were pursuing I'm kind of disappointed that Tucker was signed. I'd much rather seen Jeremy Burnitz in RF. It seems that Jeffrey Hammonds and Tucker may platoon out in RF. That's alot of outs.
I'm not surprised by the Snow signing. He is still a pretty popular player despite his decline. The Chronicle has said that he should be seeing less time with Pedro Feliz getting more starts at first. At least the Giants got him fairly cheap.
The only hole left to fill is at SS. I sure hope that they don't decided that Nefi Perez is an everyday SS. I don't know if they would bring in Tejada, but it would sure be nice to see him in a Giants uniform.

I wasn't intending this to be a "player" thread but a team thread, but no problem.

Just like the team that almost won the Series in 2002.

Don't think Jeff Kent would've much appreciated being considered a nobody.

Snow is an asset. His OBA was pretty good at the end while he hit 2nd. As for Tucker, that's a disappointment. He's a nice hitter at times but he makes way too many outs and is not that fast. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Reggie Sanders/Kenny Lofton.
