Who once earned a save despite giving up 10 runs in an inning?

Just to help narrow it down--was it an 'official' save (since 1969) or one that was found later in a pre-1969 game?

It was one that was given to him in 1969, but it occured well before then. It was given under the first version of the save rule, which only required that a pitcher protect the lead.

Good job, Tre. Shore was the guy.

Shore may hold the distinction of having the largest difference between relief appearance outings--in this one (his ML debut) he gave up 10 runs in one inning. And everyone remembers that he threw a 'perfect' game after relieving Ruth a few years later. :)
