It seems true for me, but....?

Hi, I'm a MLB fan from Taiwan. Recently I found a book named "One Hundred Years of Taiwan Baseball" (in Chinese) and it mentioned (page 34) from 1921 Jan. 8 to 16, An American pro baseball team came to Taiwan to play seven exhibition games with a Taiwan baseball team. And a player's name from this American team is pronounced "RUTH" in Japanese!! (Then Taiwan is Japan's colony)

I check many websites about Ruth and Major League history (in English) but I can't find anything about it. Is it false? I think the newspapers then or Ruth's biography may answer it, but I don't have one....

And in 1934 this time Bambino did go to Japan with lots Major League stars and play exhibition games there. And I also found a book "Rising Sun: Development of Taiwan Basebll" mentioned (page 220) that this team ALSO came to Taiwan and play some games, too.

I also check it, yes, Ruth DID go to Japan, but there's nothing about Ruth to Taiwan, either. Be a Taiwanese MLB fan, I really really want to know the answer of this question: "DID SULTAN OF SWAT EVER COME TO TAIWAN? (in 1921 & 34)"

Maybe I can ask him there.

I couldn't find anything either but you might try www.baberuthmuseum.com and send them an email asking if they know.

You might also try www.baseballhalloffame.org and see if they know.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Babe ever was there. But I don't know one way or the other.

let us know if you find an answer!

I have contacted Babe Ruth Meseum according to KCBoomer's advice. When I get the answer I'll post it as fast as I can.
