This is being currently played in Cuba, though one doesn't really hear about it here in the states...i guess the us team is formed by Central League players...
incredibly enough, Brasil has a team in the tournament!
Group A: Canada, Cuba, Guam, Italy, Korea, Nicaragua, Russia, Taiwan
Group B: Brasil, China, France, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, US
We are currently in sixth place in the group (top 4 advance), having lost to Panama (Olmedo Saenz, Julio Mosquera, and Ruben Rivera), US (Darren Blakely), and Japan, and beaten Mexico and Holland (Eugene Kingsale and Ivanon Coffie).

here's a little trivia - let's see if anyone can recognize this former major leaguer, shown here arguing with the umps during a game against Brasil.

Heck, I didn't even know one existed. I think that's pretty cool regardless of who's on the teams.

the world cup is over and Cuba are champions, beating Panama in the final. the US finished 5th and Brasil 7th.
Brasil almost pulled an upset, as Renan Sato hit a solo HR to put the samba team up 3-2 in the top of the 9th. However, Kendrys Morales hit a two-run walk-off HR in the bottom of the 9th to power the local team through.

Looks like George Brett but that's the only guess I can think of...so you could if ya wanted. Besides, I'm the only person interested in this thread besides you so my opinion should be the one that matters. :)

nope, this guy played 1685 games less than George Brett at 3B. in fact, he only played 37 games in the majors, for the yankees and angels...

Must be the legendary Robert Eenhoorn.
Vanna, I'd like to sell back a vowel.
