Any interest in me setting up a forum where there's no moderation, rules, etc.

Kinda like a free form forum where you can say whatever you want and ignore whatever you want?

I've had this issue come up somewhere else. For sports, too much "unfiltered" stuff can get quite harsh and the "telling it like it is" can have lasting effects on the person being told. Just about everyone here doesn't seem like the argumentative put down type of individuals, so not as much room for concern but with the "Just Shooting" here, what's the purpose of that section?

On a related note, to my knowledge, you're the only "Moderator" here. Ever considered asking a few trusted ones if they'd like to moderate here to help you out, giving them some kind of administrative privileges?

I saw this (forum idea) as an opportunity for some to have a place to "ramble" and go "off topic" without reservation - - more so than a place for slamming, etc.

As far as moderators go, in a situation where an opening may exist, in order to be a qualified candidate for consideration, a member must be an individual who has substantial tenure in the forums, has no prior record of being a discomfort in the derriere, is a possessor of an open mind, places the good of the forum over their own agenda, has never attempted to manipulate the Community Standards or bucked an obligation, displays an aptitude for cooperation, maintains a proper perspective and does not whine or have a propensity of nit-picking. (Campaigning will also cost a candidate to lose some points.)

Skip, just an idea I floated about, nothing serious. BTW, just so you know, I wasn't trying for myself as a candidate, in case that might be what you were thinking.

The choice of the forum is up to you. I haven't seen any other responses so your choice unless someone communicates to you privately.

Yeah, doesn't sound like anyone is interested - - we'll can the idea for now.

Up to you. But looking at the site where you culled some members and their Moderators, it may be in your best interest to eventually have volunteers who can help you hold down the fort.

If you've noticed, some of our newer members seem to know quite a bit about the game so having your hands less full in the future may be beneficial to yourself and the forum as a whole. Just an option I'm throwing out for you, no obligation on your part.

I didn't cull anyone - - they came over via free will.

So be it; just a different way of expressing thoughts. "Cull" means to select or choose, so you're right, you'd just put your link in your sig, so it would be different. Anyway, that's just a technicality.

I'm a sucker - - I'm still going to try it. Look for more soon.
