,{somewhere G is grinding his teeth}watching a documentary on him last night, I thought of a few things. 1] he is probably the most famous man on the planet 2] he appears to be a genuinely nice fellow,despite the crush whenever he moves and 3] there are probably 10 better players that I can name off the top of my head,and 2[or at least Michael Owen] on the English squad,which means he's marketed extremely well[huge understatement]...he is a media phenomanon...any thoughts???

how many soccer players have movies named after them?

He's definitely not the best player, or even close to it. However, he did show a remarkable flair for the dramatic by scoring a goal (bending it like himself?) in his first game for Real.

What I find annoying is not Becks himself, but the constant media questioning as to why he's not as popular in America as he is elsewhere. Hmmm, could it be because he plays soccer???

Still, he's not nearly as bad as his detractors make out, though he's about the 6th or 7th best player on his TEAm[Real},now...
