I hope to look at these guys in the next few weeks:
http://www.netshrine.com/ballot.html
and finally get in who needs to get in.............
Then, for the next ballot, I am considering the following:
Sal Bando
Lou Bierbauer
Ossie Bluege
Rico Carty
Tommy Davis
Ken Holtzman
Sam "Toothpick" Jones
Ed Konetchy
Denny Lyons
Garry Maddux
Dick McAuliffe
Dave McNally
Hal McRae
Bing Miller
Billy Nash
Amos Otis
Dode Paskert
Gary Peters
Johnny Pesky
Billy Shindle
Terry Turner
Dick Williams
Of those 22 above, is there someone more deserving of being on the NEXT ballot?
To see who is in already, see: http://www.netshrine.com/directory.html
Any and all feedback appreciated. Thanks.

There probably is...I just don't know who. :) While analyzing stuff for my HOF's I've likely come across someone though.

I believe that should be Garry Maddox, with an "o."

First guy that comes to mind is Hilton Smith...but I'm out of the business of writing fake mini-bios. :)

Yup - typo.

You're right. Which of the 22 would you bump? Note below that I've now taken off Bierbauer, Terry Turner, and Bluege.

Guy Bush, Freddy Parent, and Art Fletcher should be on the ballot. Bierbauer, Terry Turner, and Bluege will be taken off in their place.
Bobby Wallace should also be moved from Icons to Supernals, IMHO.

Among my all-time favorite baseball quotations:
"2/3 of the earth is covered by water. The other 1/3 is covered by Garry Maddox" - Ralph Kiner

Ditto that!

Wolf, just drop one of the guys that isn't one of my suggestions. ;)

While I was looking for stuff for the Relievers for Cooperstown thread, I got another idea...how about John Hiller for NetShrine?

Heckuva comeback, that's for sure. He goes on the next ballot.

McNally definetly deserves a spot. I'd put him with Mike Cuellar as an Icon of the Expansion Era.

I'm not clear on the rule, but is there anyway McNally, Cuellar, Palmer and Dobson can be in as a group? The last set of four 20 game winners.

Palmer is already in!

You'd have to put all 4 in individually, and Dobson would be a tough sell even by NetShrine's standards. Only way a mediocre player gets in is if he did something unique or spectacular during his career...sort of the reason I got Deion Sanders in here. But I don't think either of those apply to Pat Dobson.
Also, Wolf, thanks for accepting Hiller...I can handle waiting a year for him.

Hopefully it won't take me a year!
David Justice and Eddie Stanky should be on the next ballot as well.

George Mullin, who died where SmedIndy lives, should be on the ballot next time too.

You're going to do more yearly inductions? Sweet.
Now I gotta find me more potential Shriners.
Or remind myself of suggestions I suggested to you in the past...:)

While we talk about Tigers, Tommy Bridges would also be a great selection.

That's what I figured.
I didn't know if groups/pairs of players were put in for a shared accomplishment while still keeping open individual enshrinement for their own feats.

No shared entries. Every player must stand on his own.

What about Bill "Soup" Campbell?

Not NetShrine worthy, IMHO.

Just in case he's retired, you have to put Mike Morgan on the ballot. Anybody who plays for any many teams as he has to be selected.
(I would also use this post to resuggest Bobo Newsom for similar reasons)

Both deserve consideration - along with Gus Triandos
