Anyone can write about teams that win, or great teams, but I find books on teams that aren't so good, are pretty good reads. Does anyone have any suggestions as to books on bad teams/organizations? It doesn't matter if they have a serious or funny tone, I just enjoy a good book :D

So far, I've read

"The Curse of Rocky Colavito" - Terry Pluto (Cleveland Indians)
"Seasons in Hell" - Mike Shropshire (Texas Rangers)
"Damned Yankees" - Bill Madden (New York Yankees)
"We Could Have Finished Last Without You" - Bob Hope (Atlanta Braves)
"Can't Anyone Here Play This Game" - Jimmy Breslin (New York Mets)
"Dog Days: The New York Yankees' Fall from Grace and Return to Glory, 1964-1976" - Philip Bashe (New York Yankees)
"Ball Four" - Jim Bouton (Seattle Pilots)
"The Worst Team Money Can Buy" - Bob Klapisch

Misfits: the Cleveland Spiders in 1899, by J. Thomas Hetrick

Not an exciting book, but a good daily account of what was a horrible season.

An overview was "On A Clear Day They Could See Seventh Place". That's out of print now, though.

"Chris von der Ahe and the St. Louis Browns" by Hetrick has a good overview of their later, putrid, seasons.

I Managed Good, but Boy, Did They Play Bad.

Bouton has some kind of hand in this.

The Long Season by Jim Brosnan was about two teams (since he was traded midseason) going nowhere. It is as well written a book as you will ever find

I also read the Curse of Colavito by Terry Pluto. It was about a series of bad and mediocre Indian teams. He also wrote an amusing book about the ABA
