Another one that came up in a chat with my dad:

Before Fernando Tatis hit two grand slams in an inning off of Chan Ho Park in 1999, nine players had hit two grand slams in one game. Only one was a National League player. Who was he? Hint: he was in uniform during the 2001 World Series.

For extra credit, who - also in uniform during the 2001 World Series - was on third base for the second slam?

Tony Cloninger - Yankees bullpen coach was the guy who hit 'em, and I'd have to guess Joe Torre was the one on base.

Great question. Kudos to your dad.

Right on, Andy - Cloninger and Torre it is. My dad is a repository of great trivia information.

To follow up, from www.baseball-almanac.com, here's the complete list of players who have hit two grand slams in a game. Cloninger was the only pitcher - stump your friends!
